We've been hard at work this summer making major improvements to the campus wireless network. On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the server certificates for the eduroam and UCCS-Wireless networks will be renewed. As a result, you may be prompted to accept a new certificate the next time your device connects to these networks.
Whenever you're asked to accept a wireless certificate, it's important to verify that the certificate fingerprint matches the one we have published. This verification helps ensure that you're connecting to the official UCCS wireless infrastructure and not a potentially malicious network. We publish the fingerprints of our wireless certificates so you can verify their authenticity.
The new certificates are issued by COMODO RSA Organization. You can view the certificate details and verify fingerprints on our certificate information page.
If you have any questions or experience issues connecting to the wireless network, please contact the OIT Service Desk at 719-255-4357 or visit https://oit.uccs.edu/get-help.

Enjoy the nice weather while staying connected outdoors!
Here is what you should know!
- There are around 75 outdoor wireless access points (APs) that provide wireless coverage to more than 8 acres of campus.
- They broadcast the same wireless networks you find indoors (eduroam & UCCS-Guest).
- The first Outdoor Wi-Fi installation project was brought to you in 2019 based off feedback from faculty, staff, and students.
Where are the outdoor wireless access points (APs) located?
- Many are found along the pedestrian spine on central campus – from Cragmor Hall all the way to Roaring Fork Dining Hall.
- Others can be found on west campus around Hybl Sports Medicine and Performance Center, Lane Center, and the Ent Center for the Arts (ECFA).
- Visit our interactive campus map that shows the location of the outdoor wireless access points.
What do outdoor wireless access points look like?
- For best signal and performance try to work nearby the APs, and try to keep a clear line of sight between your wireless device and the AP.
- Some APs are mounted to light poles, others are mounted directly to buildings, and some are integrated into bollards.
- Some may be hidden within nearby structures, so even if you don’t see the access point, there should still be wireless signal in the areas marked on the map.
- You can visit our knowledgebase article for photos of what many of the outdoor APs look like.
Our favorite outdoor areas to work while enjoying the sunshine?
- The ECFA south lawn is ideal for studying in the sun with views of Pikes Peak and the sculpture garden.
- El Pomar Plaza is great as there are a few tables to work at that have electrical outlets.
- Each corner of the Alpine Garage and Field location has an outdoor AP where you can work with stunning mountain views.

The Wi-Fi team is soliciting your feedback regarding the Wi-Fi coverage around campus and asking for your time to answer nine short questions about your experience. The survey closes on March 21, 2025.
